When it comes to the safe, secure and responsible disposal of obsolete computers and redundant IT technology, your equipment needs to be disposed of in line with WEEE Legislation, Data Protection Act and EC Environmental regulations.

You have a responsibility to ensure your IT equipment is appropriately dealt with from start to finish. That includes knowing its final destination. The Data Protection Act requires all information to be destroyed when the media on which it is stored becomes redundant. Failure to comply could result in fines and complicated legal issues.

At Integra Schools we take all of this into account and have partnered with Resolve IT Recycling to ensure all these requirements are met, at no extra cost and part of our service to you. Resolve IT Recycling is a fully licensed recycling business specialising in WEEE recycling. They currently operate across the entire UK refurbishing excess WEEE equipment from schools/offices and many other types of businesses.

All media which may contain data i.e. Hard Drives, Tapes, Floppy Disks, CD’s etc. is securely data wiped before either being reprocessed or destroyed. Hard Drives and Flash Media is wiped to HMG IS5 (CESG) standard which guarantees the destruction of the data.

Resolve IT Recycling were not only chosen because the services they offer, they were also chosen for their local community ethos which aligns with ours. They provide a back-to-work scheme for the long-term unemployed and train temporary members of staff to work with computers, and further their knowledge. They also offer full time IT apprenticeships.
